All evening talks will be open to the public. Permaculture course students will attend at no additional cost, and others may attend by paying $10-$5 sliding scale.

July 2 Marisha Auerbach from Wild Thyme Farm and Herb’n'Wisdom will present “Seed-Saving as an Activist Practice”. Seedsaving is a great localizing buffer against the corporatization of our food supply, because it encourages diversity and increases the resilience in our gardens to pests and diseases. As corporations attempt to take control of our genetic diversity, seedsaving becomes an important political act. Come join us to learn how you can take responsibility for your own food supply by saving your seeds from your own garden.

July 16th. Jenny Pell with Permaculture Now! Jenny Pell is a permaculture educator, designer, and consultant based in Seattle. She has developed and managed a variety of projects in Central America, Hawaii, and the PNW. Her specialty is developing perennial edible and multifunctional polycultures in urban landscapes. Former tree planter, helicopter pilot, carpenter, and yurt builder, Jenny brings a depth of experience to the table; her slideshows and presentations inform, inspire, and motivate people to make changes that help us move toward a sustainable future.
